Blog # 13 in Google Classroom

Blog # 13

Elie Wiesel, author and holocuast survivor said, “The opposite of love is not hate, it’s indifference. The opposite of art is not ugliness, it’s indifference. The opposite of faith is not heresy, it’s indifference. And the opposite of life is not death, it’s indifference.” The Israelites were indifferent about their covenant with YHWH, and as a result became indifferent about the suffering of people. God, however, never grows indifferent.

What have you become indifferent to?  Looking through history/current events/their own lives to acknowledge who or what we've become indifferent to....  How has that changed how you life out life as a Christ follower?

When Samuel is looking for a king in 1 Samuel 16:7, the Lord says to him that he “does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” In other words, in God’s eyes, what’s on the inside is much more important than how things appear on the outside. Why do you think it’s so easy to judge by appearances? Have you ever judged someone by their appearance and later found out you were wrong?

Write your own personal mission statement in Google Classroom

Write your own personal mission statement

write your mission statement make it concise, limiting it to no more than three sentences, and keeping your language positive. Instead of stating what you don’t want to do: “I don’t want to contribute to environmental failures,” focus on what you do want to do: “I want to help save the environment for generations to come.” Following are sample mission statement templates to get you started:
“To… [what you want to achieve, do or become] … so that … [reasons why it is important]. I will do this by … [specific behaviors or actions you will use to get there]”
“To live each day with … [choose 1-3 values or principles] … so that … [what living by these values will give you]. I will do this by [specific behaviors you will use to live by these values]”
“To appreciate and enjoy … [things you want to appreciate and enjoy more] … by … [what you can to appreciate and enjoy these things on a daily basis]”
When you’ve got something written down, raise your hand to receive feedback either from your teacher, or a classmate. Once your teacher has approved it, write it in the inside cover of your journal (in pen), and private comment it on the assignment in Google classroom
